Projects

V-Site Assembly Building
Los Alamos National Laboratory,
Los Alamos, New Mexico
Crocker
& Associates was the primary consultant on historic
preservation
practice for the restoration of the Victory site, where the first
atomic weapon was assembled. We specified and directed preservation
techniques, structural stabilization and compliance with the Secretary
of Interior Standards for historic preservation.

Palace of the Governors, Santa
Fe
The company completed structural
monitoring and documentation of
this National Historic Landmark. Demolition of adjacent, non-historic
structures required that vibration levels be monitored through the use
of seismographs, crack monitors, and daily inspections.

Marfa House, Marfa, Texas
This privately owned two-story adobe residence required a comprehensive
structural assessment and stabilization plan, including drainage system
and extensive structural repairs.

Painted Kiva
Coronado State Monument, Bernalillo, New Mexico
The Painted Kiva contained paintings comprising what is generally
acknowledged to be among the finest pre-historic mural art in North
America. Crocker & Associates completed a condition report,
assessment, and outline strategy for treatment of the kiva, located in
the AD 1300 Kuaua Pueblo.

City of Tucson, Tucson, Arizona
Specialists from Crocker & Associates provided assessments and expert
witness testimony for the city related to moisture invasion in historic adobe
structures.

Leaden Hall School, Salisbury, England
Crocker & Associates designed and directed the installation of a foundation
system for the expansion of the Leaden Hall School located within the
Salisbury Cathedral Close. Strict compliance with English Heritage
specifications required that the foundation not disturb Roman era
archeological remains, utilize no Portland cement, be capable of
withstanding flood conditions, be reversible, and cause no vibration
during installation that would damage surrounding historic structures.

Baca County Courthouse
Springfield, Colorado
The firm was retained by the Colorado Historical Fund and Baca
County to design a new roofing system that manages roof runoff while
protecting historic architectural elements. The company also provided
recommendations regarding the conservation of historic materials.

Los Luceros Residence, New Mexico
The company was retained to design a stabilization system that included
strapping the 19th century hacienda together with polypropylene belting
and filling voids with a lightweight ceramic grout. Minimal invasion
and reversibility were key requirements.

Mission of San Cristobal,
Galisteo Basin, New Mexico
Crocker & Associates presented a strategy that changed drainage
patterns on the Mission San Cristobal (ca. 1626) without any
excavation. Subsequently, the plan called for infilling the mortar
joints with a mix virtually identical to the existing and then
re-plastering the entire wall with a similiar mud. Two small sections
of the walls were then reconstructed on existing foundations to
buttress the standing remains.
